CASHIERS, NC — Local artist and former celebrity photographer brings a fresh, eclectic energy to the mountains with the opening of Poane’ Gallery, a vibrant creative space that’s already making waves in the Cashiers art scene.
A lifelong artist, Poane’ has spent years behind the lens photographing iconic personalities and now brings that same passion to canvas. His work spans a wide range of genres—from bold abstracts and classical Old Master-style paintings to soulful portraits painted on wood—offering something for every kind of collector and art lover.
“I knew my art would resonate with the clientele in Cashiers,” he says. “And it’s been so rewarding to see how well it’s been received. People love the gallery—it’s more than a shop, it’s a reflection of a life lived through creativity.”
Poane’ Gallery is also home to a signature line of hand-poured coconut soy wax candles made with cosmetic-grade fragrances, as well as all-natural soaps. Every detail in the space is intentional, welcoming guests with a feast for the senses.
To celebrate his success, Poane’ Gallery invites the community to a special open gallery event on Wednesday, July 30, 2025, from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. Guests will enjoy wine, refreshments, and charcuterie featuring homemade organic jams, jellies, marmalades, and other delicious goodies.
“I’ve overcome many great hurdles in my life,” Poane’ adds. “But each day I get to paint, share my work, and connect with others through art is a dream come true.”
