Come on out to our Annual Campout, one of our award winning community events!
Special guest this year: National Treasure Barbara Adair (basket making) who will lead us in round reed basket making!
Our campout for 2025 is scheduled for August 1st - August 3rd at Gold Country Campground, 13026 Tabeaud Rd. in Pine Gove, CA. To reserve, call the resort and say youβre with the Cherokees of Northern Central Valley group.
Contact Information: (209) 296-4650 or www.goldcountrycampground.com!
You can come for the day or spend the entire weekend enjoying the grounds, great food, great friends, and lots of excellent cultural activities. We are planning an exciting weekend for your enjoyment, including crafts, games, and Saturday night dinner together.
Activities you can look forward to:
- Saturday: Cherokee National Treasure Barbara Adair will teach us round reed basket making
- Cherokee games - we will have the brand new Winter Rabbit game created by citizens as well as traditional chunkey and marbles.
- Swimming pool, spray park, and playground available for the young and young at heart
- Big Indian taco dinner on Saturday
- And lots of time to visit and laugh together
We could also use some volunteer help with our Saturday dinner prep! Come help us make fresh frybread for bison Indian tacos, seasonal Three Sisters succotash, and delicious peach crisp to feed our hungry and wonderful Cherokee community. We are looking for a few volunteers and will provide all instruction (want to learn how to make frybread?).
Email Y25jdiAhIGNvbW11bmljYXRpb25zIHwgZ21haWwgISBjb20= if you are able to assist on Saturday.
