Bisexual+ Network of Nova Scotia: Dartmouth Community Picnic!

Join us on August 2nd from 12–3 PM at Dartmouth Commons (near the Wyse Road entrance) for an afternoon of connection, celebration, and community.
This picnic is a chance to raise awareness and visibility for bisexuality, centre bisexual+ experiences, and create a welcoming space where bisexual+ folks of all genders can meet, share stories, and just enjoy each other’s company. We’re also using this event to help raise the visibility of the Bisexual+ Network of Nova Scotia- a community resource and space for bi+ folks across the province.

We would greatly appreciate if you RSVP’d at this link:

Please note: This picnic is open to allies and those who do not identify as bisexual+. We believe that allyship is important, and we also recognize that bisexual+ people have friends, partners, family members, and support people who may not share the identity. Everyone is welcome to join in creating a supportive and inclusive space.

What do I bring?

This is a potluck-style event—you're welcome to bring your own food or something to share! If you’re bringing a dish to share, please label it clearly with all ingredients for allergy and dietary purposes. Bring a folding chair, a blanket, or whatever you need to feel comfy. We will be putting all of the blankets together to make a more communal space.

Please note that this is kid-friendly! Feel free to bring your kiddos along.

Coming alone?

If you’re attending on your own and would like to be paired up with a “buddy” to meet beforehand, just let us know in the form and we’ll happily make a connection via email.

Accessibility Notes:

We’ll be gathering in a mostly flat area near the parking lot and the Bridge Terminal.
Please avoid wearing heavily scented products.
Homemade snacks should be labelled with ingredients.
Masks are welcome, but not required.
A welcome table will be available off to the side for anyone who wants a quieter spot or a friendly volunteer to chat with.

If you have questions or accessibility needs, feel free to reach out—we’re happy to help.
