La Mayor & Mikkeller: Mexican Sour & Taco Pairing

Inspired by the flavours of Mexico, and in collaboration with chef Mariana de la Garza, Mikkeller have created a trio of Mexican sours using various fruits & spices. And how best to present these Mexican sours than pair them with Chef Montserrat's specially-designed taco of the week.

Chef Montserrat Garza's Taco of the Week is a coated shrimp & coconut taco with mango sauce. 3 tacos will be served!

Now the beers:

Ate de Membrillo is a fruited gose laden jam-packed with quince, and for our version we've added guava too. A little lemon balances the sweetness, along with the sourness of the beer itself. The result is bright, citrussy, tropical & jammy. (Fruited Gose 5.4%)

Mango Chamoy is a fruited gose laden with apricot, mango, and lime purée, as well as hibiscus flowers and a touch of ancho chilli powder. The result is smooth, fruity & tangy. (Fruited Gose 5.4%)

Mexico Sour: Pay de Limón is a fruited gose with biscuit malt, vanilla beans, and puréed lemon & lime. Biscuit malt emulates the pastry base while the addition of lactose to the fruit & vanilla enhance its meringue-like qualities. The result is light, zesty and refreshing. (Fruited Gose 5.4%)
