Announcing Book Four: The Recollection (Historical Fiction) A holiday story
Wordcrafts Press announces the publication of the next book by Cherie Dargan in her Grandmother’s Treasures series. Book Four: The Recollection is a Christmas holiday-themed novel with the historical story taking place during the Great Depression. Dargan’s third book, The Promise, came out last August and takes place during the Great War.
The first event, a book signing, takes place at The Market, Jorgensen Plaza, 5307 Caraway Lane, Cedar Falls, on Tuesday, August 5th. The Market will also sell flour sack towels printed with the special holiday logo designed by Patricia Tiffany Morris. Proceeds from the towels will be split between The Food Bank of NE Iowa and House of Hope, Dargan’s designated charity. A small percentage of each book’s sales benefits House of Hope. More events are being planned: Dargan will also meet with Community Groups and Book Clubs to talk about what she learned about life during the Great Depression in Iowa.
The Dust Bowl has devastated farms across the Midwest. World war looms on the horizon. Banks are failing. The Great Depression has come to Jubilee Junction.
In the present day, Gracie and her team of history sleuths have a new quilt mystery to piece together, one that will join two families together. And amid it all, Christmas in Jubilee Junction in both eras is celebrated with new family, new babies, old traditions, and a fresh and unexpected opportunity to practice forgiveness, reconciliation, and peace on Earth.
“Once again, Cherie Dargan has stitched history, love, loss and triumph into story form, with a little laughter and a few tears along the way. The Recollection of the Crazy Quilt is a beautiful story, a patchwork of family and friends we’ve come to know and love in this fourth novel set in Jubilee Junctions. Readers will enjoy delving deep into the heartaches and strong-willed spirit of the Great Depression as they follow along with modern-day newlyweds, David and Gracie on the trail to solve yet another family quilt mystery. Happy reading!”
Sheri Smith Shonk-Author of the Houses of Hope series.
