The ARTS Council of the Southern Finger Lakes (The ARTS Council) is pleased to announce Salmon and Trout Flies of the Finger Lakes, a folk art exhibit curated by Eric Mastroberti, on display in our small works space from June 27 to July 31, 2025, at 79 W Market St, Corning NY.

🎣A fly tying demonstration and curator's talk will be held Friday, July 18, from 6-8pm.

For this exhibit, Eric interviewed local and regional anglers to learn about the lures, or "flies," that have originated and are used in the Finger Lakes for catching landlocked salmon, rainbow trout, and brown trout. This exhibit documents over 60 fly patterns developed by over a dozen regional anglers. The exhibit also features highly ornate "full dress" Atlantic salmon flies tied by Eric in homage to these regionally specific fly patterns.

This exhibit is made possible by the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of the Office of the Governor and the New York State Legislature, the Community Foundation of Elmira-Corning and the Finger Lakes, and the Leon Chandler Chapter of Trout Unlimited.
