We’re going hiking! Join Outdoor Recreation (ODR) for a day hike on July 26 and discover a unique landscape at Chewacla State Park! Chewacla State Park, located in Auburn, Alabama, is a public recreation area occupying 696 acres below Interstate 85. The park’s highlight is Lake Chewacla which provides lots of opportunities for fishing, swimming and boating. In addition, the park features a large system of different trails for hiking.

Chewacla State Park received many awards for its beauty, and we’re going to show it to you! We are meeting at Outdoor Recreation, 7310 Gillespie Street, Building 1707, on Saturday, July 26 at 8 a.m., traveling to the park, and will end our day trip back at ODR around 3 p.m. We’ll hike the trails for approx. 4-5 hours. While the trails are rated easy to moderate, participants must be at least 10 years old.

Participation is $15 per person or $45 for families of 4+. This event is open to all ID cardholders and their families; Fee includes the park entry fee, transportation, snacks and water.
