Groundwork - For Safety and Connection

Discover how quality handling and ground work can enrich your relationship with your horse make you safer and happier partners!
A "foundation" is "the minimum amount of skill and/or knowledge that a horse and human need to have to operate safely and in harmony in the human world." For many of us, this foundation starts on the ground. What happens on the ground is often carried into the saddle, so many issues under saddle can be traced to their origins in our horse's daily handling or groundwork.
By building a "tool box" of skills on the ground, the human can become the horse's comforter and problem-solver, resulting in more safety for both partners, and more communication and relationship as well.
This clinic is also a good place to get your horse "out and about" in a supportive atmosphere away from his home - which is an important part of developing a horse/human partnership.
Women desiring to achieve a "middle-aged woman-broke horse" are especially welcome. You will be among friends.
We will supply a Beckham Beef lunch for participants, all others may bring a bag lunch. Auditors are welcome, $20 at the gate, bring lunch and a chair. Questions will be welcome throughout the day.
Farm Rules:
No dogs, no exceptions
Participants must sign release as a part of the sign-up process
Participant spots are non-refundable, but a participant may sell their spot to a substitute participant
We are not hard to find, but some map apps still have trouble finding us. You will get directions via email.
Rain Date is October 18, 2025.
