The Memos are a Liverpool-based indie band known for their heartfelt lyrics, soaring choruses, and electrifying live performances. Frontman Aaron Spencer, who spent much of his life in Whitehaven, channels the town’s people, streets, and stories into songwriting that is honest, gritty, and full of emotional depth.

Blending the raw edge of Northern England’s working-class spirit with a transatlantic twist, The Memos feature lead guitarist Zak Langford Do from San Francisco, whose vibrant, melodic flair complements the band’s gritty British realism. Bassist Gary Robertson brings unmistakable Scouse heart and energy, along with backing vocals that add rich texture and drive to their sound.

Spencer has recently co-written tracks with Justin Hawkins (The Darkness) and Kyle Falconer (The View), helping to build momentum for a band rapidly gaining recognition across the UK. Following a series of sold-out shows in Liverpool, The Memos are establishing themselves as a band to watch.

Their upcoming EP, Futures Ours To Find, captures the raw intensity and emotional power of their live shows, combining northern roots with ambitious songwriting. Now, The Memos return to The Yellow Earl in Whitehaven for a special hometown headline show set to be unforgettable.
