As per Summer tradition, our July meeting will be an outdoor guided walk, this year with our own vice-chair Jim Jackson.
This year we are going to Historic Middleton Park at the heart of South Leeds. We will explore the early mining remains (which are scheduled), see some of the 800 year old boundary ditch between Middleton and Beeston, look at the Ice House that SLA were involved with from 2013 to 2019, and take in the wonderful woods.
We will meet at Middleton Park Visitor Centre, 7pm.
Directions: Enter the park off Town Street, Middleton - the nearest postcode is LS10 3SH for SatNavs. Drive through the entrance gates, keep to the right and go down the hill into the park then left into the car park. You will see the visitor centre down by the lake.
The walk will last between an hour and 90 minutes and is a little over 2 miles long. Please wear sensible shoes, as some of the route is on woodland paths. Please note there are NO toilets open in the park at this time of day.
We hope you can join us there!
