We are delighted to present an afternoon of classic TV plus short talk by composer Paul Lewis. See two episodes from the 1980s Tales of the Unexpected, known for its iconic opening sequence and Ron Grainer's unforgettable theme tune.
Initially known as Roald Dahl's Tales of the Unexpected, the series ran for more than 6 seasons adapting short stories from many other writers over the years, including Patricia Highsmith, Ruth Rendell and Antonia Fraser.
The two episodes will be The Vorpal Blade, starring Peter Cushing and The Mugger starring Roy Marsden, both with incidental music composed by Paul Lewis, who will introduce the screening with a short talk beforehand and Q&A afterwards.
"Paul Lewis has been producing wonderful music for British television for more than 30 years with some staggeringly beautiful results.....(He) attacks his projects with a full cinematic mentality that would match Hollywood's best." Andrew Keech - Music from the Movies
