Anyone may submit photos of their loved ones by July 29 by emailing ZXZlbnQgfCBtdGhvb2Rob3NwaWNlICEgb3Jn. No connection to hospice required.
Pictures will be framed and displayed on trees around the park (290 people were honored last year) with flags next to veteran photos. The walkways will be lit with almost 400 luminarias and gentle song care throughout. You will find a peaceful space with various areas to reflect and honor those you are missing including, memorial stone painting, labyrinth and memorial bells.
The local VFW & auxiliary will host the Missing Man Table to remember POW/MIA service members and play a rendition of Taps twice during the event.
The Sandy Library has a mobile table with books on grief for children.
Over 70 volunteers were needed to make this event happen. If you are interested in helping contact Laura Lirette at 503-668-5545 or bGxpcmV0dGUgfCBtdGhvb2Rob3NwaWNlICEgb3Jn for information.
