Introduction to Slow Stitching

Drop In at Nourish
Slow Stitching with Amy Thomas of Mindful Stitches

This will be a facilitated introduction to slow stitching, not really a class, but an opportunity to learn a new mindfulness activity.

Slow stitching is about enjoying something creative - one stitch at a time. It is not about creating a finished piece, but about relaxing and taking a break from our stresses while adding stitches to fabric. Slow stitching is grounded in the Japanese concept Wabi Sabi – in simple terms the appreciation of imperfection and impermanence.

While it isn’t about the finished piece, many people use their creations within art journals or as patches.

This drop in is appropriate for anyone comfortable using a needle and thread. No need to bring anything, all materials will be provided. Stop by anytime between 1 and 3 pm.

This is a free activity.
