Open Hive Inspection, Wakefield

Hello, everyone
This will confirm that I’ll be doing an open hive at my home, 17 Briarwood Drive, Wakefield on Saturday July 19 or (Rain date) Sunday, July 20. We do these as a substitute for intermediate bee school, which remains on hold this year. All questions are welcome, bring any equipment or pictures you’re not sure about. Depending on what happens over the next two weeks, I expect that we’ll be working on several issues this month:
· General hive inspection skills (as usual)
· Working with limited protective gear (as usual)
· Inspecting and treating for diseases
· Mite Counts and Treatments
· Evaluating Honey for Extraction
· Honey Extraction
Right now there are seven colonies in the yard, some are nucs, some eight frame, some ten frame, some with deeps, some just mediums, some of which are marked and some of which are not, so there’ll probably be a queen to mark. Please remember to bring a veil – anything else is up to you.
