Join Kim Nimmo for this passive, slower-paced yoga that targets the yin tissues of the body: fascia, tendons, ligaments, and bone - without activating the muscles. Yin yoga poses gently stress these tissues by moving the body into the posture (only to the body’s point of first resistance) and practicing stillness.
Regular practice of Yin Yoga increases joint fluid circulation, improves the range of movement/flexibility.
Props are offered as support as we work deeper into the connective tissue. Each class begins with one or two Hatha poses followed by the Yin poses, which may be held for 2-10 minutes per pose.

Class will end with a long savasana with a relaxing yoga nidra.

Due to the lack of creating heat through muscle activation during Yin Yoga, students may wish to wear warmer clothing or layers for class. Yin yoga benefits the physical body the mind, and the energetic system. This class is suitable for students with all levels of experience.
