At 8:00 PM EST, we welcome back Amanda Bocchi is a genre-bending neo-soul songwriter whose music draws deeply from jazz harmony, classic R&B grooves, and Appalachian storytelling. Based in Virginia, her sound is rich with intricate chord progressions, soul-drenched vocals, and lyrics that explore healing, self-discovery, and emotional resilience. A formally trained guitarist, Amanda studied jazz guitar before earning her degree in classical guitar from Hollins University, a foundation that brings both technical mastery and expressive depth to her performances. Her songwriting is grounded in the improvisational spirit of jazz while maintaining the heart and intimacy of soul music. Influences from artists like Erykah Badu, Billie Holiday, and Nina Simone are woven throughout her work, but Amanda’s voice and perspective are uniquely her own. In addition to her musical pursuits, Amanda is the creator and host of Appalachian Vibes, a syndicated radio show and podcast that highlights underrepresented voices in Appalachian music, art, and literature. Airing on WNCW and other stations, the show reflects Amanda’s commitment to amplifying the diverse sounds of the region. Whether on stage or on air, Amanda Bocchi stands at the intersection of tradition and innovation, using her platform to build community through authenticity and song.
