In 2019, Mount Auburn began a three-phase project to restore the landscape along Indian Ridge Path, one of the cemetery's oldest and most significant areas. The project was designed to promote wildlife habitat and improve biological diversity, while enhancing the siteβs natural beauty. Between 2020 and 2023, their team planted 26 trees, 2,300 shrubs, 19,200 perennials, and 26,800 plugs, and seeded 22,000 sq feet of meadow in this landscape. Join us to see how the area has filled in and evolved over the last six years, creating a beautiful stroll for visitors as well as a refuge for wildlife.
