Planning for the future of your farm, ranch, or land-based business isn’t just about legal documents—it’s about values, relationships, and clarity. This 4-week online course offers a supportive and practical space to explore succession and transition planning through a holistic lens.
Led by longtime rancher and Holistic Management educator Kelly Sidoryk, the course will help you begin—or deepen—the process of planning for long-term continuity, whether you're preparing to pass the torch or step into a leadership role.
In this course you will:
Explore succession as a process—not a single event
Experiment with tools to help communicate clearly and compassionately with family or team members
Identify key roles, responsibilities, and values in your operation
Use your Holistic Goal to guide decisions and reduce conflict
Begin mapping a plan that reflects both personal and business needs
This course is designed for farm and ranch families, multigenerational teams, and anyone navigating the complex—but essential—work of transition planning. Whether you're at the start of the journey or facing tough decisions now, this course will offer tools, reflection, and encouragement.

Kelly Sidoryk, Professional HMI Certified Educator, Owner/Operator at KW Cattle Co. Ltd.
Kelly and her husband Mike live near Lloydminster, Alberta, Canada where they operate a family ranch running owned and custom yearling cattle with a small cow herd. They also have another ranch near Debden, Saskatchewan. Kelly has been involved with Holistic Management for close to 25 years. She became an HMI Certified Educator in the late 1980s and has taught a number of courses and has worked with many family producers and management groups. One area of focus for Kelly has been the "human" piece, particularly in the area of succession planning as many operations and teams work through the process of transitioning to the next generation.
