Join the West Michigan Chapter of NFBPA for our next installment of the Up Close Series: My City. My County. My State. Power Starts with Me.
The purpose of this event is to empower community members to recognize and activate their individual civic power across city, county, and state systems.
Hear from three of our elected leaders, 82nd District House State Representative Kristian Grant, Kent County Commissioner Monica Sparks, and Grand Rapids City Commissioner Lisa Knight, on the topics of:
* Real power at the city, county, and state levels
* Voter apathy & civic engagement
* Breaking down barriers to participation
* Elected accountability
* Boards, commissions, task forces
There will be time for Q&A, and dinner will be provided. We look forward to seeing our chapter members there and hope you will bring other like-minded individuals who are looking for ways to activate their political power.
