What Does A Hungry Caterpillar REALLY Eat?!

Have you ever wondered what a hungry caterpillar REALLY eats to become a beautiful butterfly?

Osawatomie Public Library, in partnership with Miami County Conservation District, invite youth and families to join us for an exciting, hands-on learning opportunity as Courtney Masterson, Ecologist and Executive Director of Native Lands Restoration Collaborative, guides us through an exploration of the special role native plants play in the lifecycle of the butterflies and pollinators that color our world.

Native Lands Restoration Collaborative (NLRC) is a charitable organization that empowers diverse land stewards to protect and restore resilient native ecosystems through community education. Founded in 2015 and reorganized as a nonprofit in 2023, Native Lands Restoration Collaborative utilizes a large network of project partners to protect and restore native landscapes across the greater northeast Kansas region.

You can learn more about Native Lands Restoration Collaborative at https://www.nativelandsks.org .

We hope you will come and learn how each of us can provide a good meal to a very hungry caterpillar!

This is a totally free public event. Light (human) snacks will also be provided.
