"Garbanzo" Sharing - Emily Briggs and Andreia Simões

This sharing is a work in progress. The event will include the sharing of a new theatre work, followed by an informal Q+A offering the audience a chance to ask questions and share feedback with the artists.
Ever wanted to play some mediocre piano but ended up dressed as an environmentalist cow? Garbanzo is a laughter-inducing, matriarchal extravaganza. This 2025 Keep It Fringe Award recipient is for everyone who strives to be the changes they wish to see. Dancing cows! Haphazard piano waltzes! Chocolate oat milk! Nothing is surprising any more. Performed by Emily Briggs and directed by Andreia Simões, this blend of theatre, stand-up comedy and physical performance is a flagrantly kitschy one-woman show.
This sharing marks the end of Emily's and Andreia's time as resident artists at Mareel as part of the Creative Shetland Commissioning Fund. Over the course of two weeks, they have been researching and developing Garbanzo's movement language.
