Welcome to another Caffe Grande Slam event advertisement!
This month there will be up to another 12 poets battling it out in 3min slots for your vote down at The Albionn cafe in sunny Dudley where great food and drink will be available to purchase.
First place wins a (varying level of worth) prize (last month was a bottle of wine, Bombay mix and a lavender bag!) They also get a 10 minute slot the following month so show off their poetical wares.
Our headliner this month is:
Heather Wastie is a Black Country wench who moved to Kidderminster in 2006. She is a former Worcestershire Poet Laureate whose poetry collections include humour, music, canals and carpets. In April this year she published her ninth collection, which has been described by Jo Bell as ‘...the best account I have read of lockdown and its mixed legacies’.
