Blow the Fuse Trio features renowned musicians Deirdre Cartwright (guitar), Alison Rayner (bass), and Buster Birch (drums).
Cartwright and Rayner have played together since the 1970s and formed this trio with Birch in the late 1990s. Expect an engaging set of swing and Latin jazz standards, along with original compositions by Cartwright and Rayner. All three are also members of Rayner’s award-winning quintet ARQ, which has toured the UK and Europe for over a decade and released four acclaimed albums, including *Sema4* (2025). ARQ won Ensemble of the Year at the 2018 Parliamentary Jazz Awards. Cartwright and Rayner previously performed with the groundbreaking 1980s jazz-Latin group the Guest Stars, touring internationally and recording three albums. In 1989, they co-founded Blow the Fuse promotions and record label, which received a Parliamentary Jazz Award for Services to Jazz in 2020.
