The Joshua Hotel are an indie-electronic trio from Inverness, fronted by multi-instrumentalist and producer Joshua Mackenzie with Louis Slorach on guitar/drones and Joshua Gilbert on drums/percussion.
They release their highly anticipated debut LP Rapture Party on vinyl, CD and digital on Friday 26th September.
Written in the Scottish Highlands and recorded on the West Coast in Largs, The Joshua Hotel’s debut album Rapture Party offers a last dance at the twilight of millennial youth. It is a reflection on growing up in a world that has since changed beyond recognition, chronicling the personal navigation of love, friendship, sexuality, self-identity, mental illness and mortality within the volatile political and cultural landscape of the last 25 years. Absorbing a broad range of musical influences across synth-pop, electronica, post-punk and art rock, these songs express, and critique, a deep fondness and longing for the glory days of what now feels like the last generation to have had it pretty good when they were young.
Join us at An Seòmar on Saturday 27th September for the special hometown launch party for their superb debut album.
