The Together We Can CHQ Coalition is proud to host the second annual Be the Light: Anyone Can Save a Life event on Saturday, August 23, 2025, from 6PMβ8PM at Point Gratiot Park in Dunkirk, NY.
Held in observance of International Overdose Awareness Day, this free, family-friendly event honors lives lost to overdose, celebrates recovery, and brings our community together in hope, healing, and connection.
Highlights include:
π Live music, snacks, and kid-friendly activities
π Keynote speakers sharing stories of resilience and recovery
π Resource fair with local services/agencies
π Purple glow visual at dusk to honor/remember those lost to accidental overdose
π Recognition of Chautauqua County EMS
π Announcement of a new EMS Scholarship for local students
π Education on the NYS Good Samaritan Law
π Harm reduction education and supplies
π Ask questions and sign up for future CPR training
We invite you not only to attend but also to participate:
β Host a table in our resource fair
β Sign up as a volunteer for the day of the event
β Share your story as a speaker
