Ozark folk healing is truly a plant-based system. In this class, we’ll explore our most beloved medicinal herbs, or “yarbs” as we call them. Learn an ancient form of herbalism based on correspondences from the seven classical planets: Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn. Learn about a variety of herbal uses and preparations from both a folk healing and magical perspective. Build your herbal repertoire with easy to use plants and simple recipes. This class series is taught by Ozark folklorist and writer Brandon Weston of Ozark Healing Traditions and is great for beginners as well as seasoned practitioners from any and all traditions.

The foundation for all our Ozark herbal practices is in traditions and methods of preparation. In this introductory class we’ll look at methods like salves and balms, poultices, infusions and decoctions, both alcohol and vinegar tinctures, simple perfumes, and many more. All of these methods will return with more specific recipes and formulas in each of the individual classes in the series. This class series is taught by Ozark folklorist and writer Brandon Weston of Ozark Healing Traditions and is great for beginners as well as seasoned practitioners from any and all traditions.
