Did you know Raleigh’s most popular parks have ruins dating back to the 1800’s hidden in plain sight? Local historian, author and journalist Heather Leah takes you on a tour to uncover secrets, legends and ruins across Raleigh:

- The 1800s zoo and alligator pit at Pullen Park

- The orphanage and forgotten legend at Fred Fletcher Park

- The Rosenwald School at Method Park

- The secret love story and boulder with carvings from Civil War soldiers at Dix Park

- We will also learn about Raleigh’s lost theme parks: Bloomsbury, Brookside, and Holly’s Park!

- We will learn about an entire ghost town hidden in the woods of a popular state park and see pictures of an underwater ghost town beneath Jordan Lake!

… and more!

We’ll depart on The Great Raleigh Trolley at 4pm on Saturday, July 26th at Tap Yard Raleigh at 1610 Automotive Way. Please arrive 15 minutes early and wear comfortable shoes!
