Przy­wy­kli­śmy… Jak to przy­wy­kli­śmy…? Dla­cze­go tak bar­dzo lu­bi­my i da­je­my się oma­mić ty­ra­nom, po­li­tycz­nym oszo­ło­mom, psy­cho­pa­tom. W imię na­tu­ral­nej se­lek­cji dzie­jo­wej?

Nasz spek­takl stwo­rzo­ny jest w ję­zy­ku, któ­ry ma am­bi­cję wy­na­leźć się na nowo, uży­wa­jąc do tego ge­no­ty­pu, jaki dają mu dwie współ­two­rzą­ce pro­jekt sce­ny - Gru­pa Co­in­ci­den­tia i Te­atr CHO­REA. W na­szym ję­zy­ko­wym DNA znaj­dą się za­tem chro­mo­so­my te­atru for­my, la­lek i ra­dy­kal­ne­go te­atru punk roc­ko­we­go, skłon­ne­go do do­słow­no­ści i ka­ry­ka­tu­ry, oraz te­atru ru­chu z jego me­ta­fo­ry­ką i po­ety­ką, zdol­ną opo­wia­dać mię­dzy sło­wa­mi za po­mo­cą cia­ła i mu­zy­ki. Czę­ścią tego ję­zy­ka jest też mu­zy­ka re­ali­zo­wa­na na żywo, po­sze­rza­ją­ca for­mu­łę te­atru o kom­po­nent kon­cer­to­wy.

Na­szą in­ten­cją jest do­ko­na­nie ge­stu ra­dy­kal­ne­go po­przez te­atr for­my - so­czy­sty, na­pę­dza­ny eks­pe­ry­men­tem. Od­waż­ny i za­an­ga­żo­wa­ny. Al­fred Jar­ry - au­tor i ad­op­to­wa­ny przez nas oj­ciec po­my­słu (ad­op­to­wa­ny bez wy­raź­nej zgo­dy, umarł bo­wiem mło­do w roku 1907), któ­ry swo­im dzie­łem wy­wo­łał nie­po­kój w swo­ich cza­sach - jest dla nas in­spi­ra­cją i nie­do­ści­głym wzo­rem.

Gru­pa Co­in­ci­den­tia - to nie­za­leż­ny te­atr oży­wio­nej for­my, za­ło­żo­ny w 2009 roku przez Dag­ma­rę Sowę i Paw­ła Chom­czy­ka, ab­sol­wen­tów Wy­dzia­łu Sztu­ki Lal­kar­skiej Aka­de­mii Te­atral­nej w Bia­łym­sto­ku. Gru­pa zre­ali­zo­wa­ła kil­ka­na­ście spek­ta­kli we współ­pra­cy z ta­ki­mi twór­ca­mi jak: Mi­cha­el Vo­gel, Łu­kasz Kos, Pa­weł Aigner, Mi­chał Wal­czak i wie­lu in­nych. Przed­sta­wie­nia były pre­zen­to­wa­ne na fe­sti­wa­lach w Eu­ro­pie, Azji i Ame­ry­ce Pół­noc­nej, zdo­by­wa­jąc licz­ne na­gro­dy, w tym: The Bank of Sco­tland He­rald An­gel, To­tal The­atre Award w Edyn­bur­gu oraz Grand Prix Fe­sti­wa­lu Kon­tek­sty. Spek­ta­kle Gru­py go­ści­ły na po­nad stu fe­sti­wa­lach na ca­łym świe­cie i czte­ro­krot­nie zna­la­zły się w fi­na­le pro­gra­mu Te­atr Pol­ska. W 2016 roku Gru­pa Co­in­ci­den­tia po­wo­ła­ła Sie­dli­sko Kul­tu­ry Sol­ni­ki 44, nie­za­leż­ny ośro­dek te­atral­ny w le­sie pod Za­błu­do­wem. Sol­ni­ki 44 sta­ły się prze­strze­nią pro­duk­cji te­atru, edu­ka­cji ar­ty­stycz­nej i dzia­łań pro­spo­łecz­nych, or­ga­ni­zu­jąc m.in. Mię­dzy­na­ro­do­wy Fe­sti­wal Te­atral­ny w Le­sie - Las­Fest oraz La­sKids - fe­sti­wal dla dzie­ci. Ośro­dek przy­cią­ga ar­ty­stów i pu­blicz­ność z ca­łe­go świa­ta, sta­jąc się waż­nym punk­tem na kul­tu­ral­nej ma­pie Pod­la­sia.

Te­atr CHO­REA - to ze­spół lu­dzi, pręż­na i nie­po­li­czal­na gru­pa ar­ty­stów, per­for­me­rów, mu­zy­ków, tan­ce­rzy, ak­to­rów, prak­ty­ków i teo­re­ty­ków te­atru, two­rzą­cych in­ter­dy­scy­pli­nar­ne pro­jek­ty ar­ty­stycz­ne, edu­ka­cyj­ne i spo­łecz­ne: spek­ta­kle, kon­cer­ty, warsz­ta­ty i per­for­men­sy. Gru­pa po­słu­gu­je się in­no­wa­cyj­ny­mi, au­tor­ski­mi me­to­da­mi pra­cy, wy­cho­dząc poza ma­in­stre­am kul­tu­ral­ny. Swo­je dzia­ła­nia kie­ru­je do do­ro­słych, mło­dzie­ży i dzie­ci, w tym dla tych sta­le od­wie­dza­ją­cych te­atr, tych z utrud­nio­nym do­stę­pem do sztu­ki oraz tych po­szu­ku­ją­cych al­ter­na­tyw­nych dzia­łań w kul­tu­rze. W swo­jej pra­cy sta­wia­ją na ze­spo­ło­wość, dzia­ła­nia w part­ner­stwie, dy­na­mi­kę gru­py, bu­do­wa­nie re­la­cji, świa­do­mość cia­ła i gło­su, mu­zy­kal­ność oraz od­kry­wa­nie twór­czych po­ten­cja­łów.

The po­li­ti­cal si­tu­ation and the hi­sto­ri­cal con­text of the world have be­co­me par­ti­cu­lar­ly sen­si­ti­ve and vi­brant. The TO­DAY se­ems to be dan­ge­ro­us and unpre­dic­ta­ble. Aga­in, usur­pers and ty­rants have run ram­pant. And al­tho­ugh tho­se we know are now qu­ite grown-up in­di­vi­du­als play­ing in the­ir sand­bo­xes, new ones awa­it in the hat­che­ries....

We are used to it... Wait, what does it mean by "we are used to it…"? Why do we like it so much and al­low our­se­lves to be de­lu­ded by ty­rants, by po­li­ti­cal stunts, by psy­cho­pa­ths. In the name of na­tu­ral hi­sto­ri­cal se­lec­tion?

Our per­for­man­ce is cre­ated in a lan­gu­age that aspi­res to re­invent it­self using the ge­no­ty­pe gi­ven to it by the two the­atres that co-cre­ated the pro­ject, Co­in­ci­den­tia Gro­up and CHO­REA The­atre. Our lin­gu­istic DNA will the­re­fo­re in­c­lu­de the chro­mo­so­mes of the­atre of form, pup­pet the­atre and ra­di­cal punk rock the­atre, pro­ne to li­te­ra­lism and ca­ri­ca­tu­re, as well as mo­ve­ment the­atre with its me­ta­phors and po­etics, able to nar­ra­te be­twe­en words using the body and mu­sic. Live mu­sic is also part of this lan­gu­age, exten­ding the the­atre for­mu­la with a con­cert com­po­nent.

Our in­ten­tion is to make a ra­di­cal ge­stu­re thro­ugh the­atre of form - ju­icy and dri­ven by expe­ri­men­ta­tion. Bold and com­mit­ted. Al­fred Jar­ry - the au­thor and ad­op­ted fa­ther of the idea (ad­op­ted wi­tho­ut expli­cit con­sent, as he died young in 1907), who cau­sed unrest in his time with his work - is our in­spi­ra­tion and mat­chless mo­del.

Co­in­ci­den­tia has pro­du­ced over a do­zen per­for­man­ces in col­la­bo­ra­tion with ar­ti­sts such as: Mi­cha­el Vo­gel, Łu­kasz Kos, Chri­stia­ne Zan­ger, Pa­weł Aigner, Mi­chał Wal­czak, Ro­bert Ja­rosz, Chri­stoph Boch­dan­sky, Pa­weł Pas­si­ni, Ro­bert Drob­niuch, Kon­rad Dwo­ra­kow­ski. Co­in­ci­den­tia's shows have been pre­sen­ted at nu­me­ro­us fe­sti­vals in Eu­ro­pe, Asia and North Ame­ri­ca and have been ho­no­red with many awards, in­c­lu­ding: The Bank of Sco­tland He­rald An­gel, To­tal The­atre Award Edin­burgh, Grand Prix of the Kon­tek­sty Fe­sti­val in Po­znań, the Grand Prix of the MFTL in To­ruń. The fo­cus of Co­in­ci­den­tia's in­te­rest is the con­tem­po­ra­ry the­atre of many me­ans of expres­sion, with par­ti­cu­lar em­pha­sis on pup­pet the­atre. The per­for­man­ces of Gru­pa Co­in­ci­den­tia were ho­sted at over one hun­dred fe­sti­vals and do­zens of gu­est sta­ges in Po­land and abro­ad. In 2016 Co­in­ci­den­tia es­ta­bli­shed Sie­dli­sko Kul­tu­ry Sol­ni­ki 44 - an in­de­pen­dent cul­tu­ral cen­tre lo­ca­ted in the fo­rest of the Pod­la­sie Re­gion. The cen­tre in­i­tia­ted Las­Fest - In­ter­na­tio­nal The­atre Fe­sti­val in the Fo­rest and La­sKids - a fe­sti­val for child au­dien­ces. Both fe­sti­vals in­c­lu­de the most in­te­re­sting of­fe­rings of in­de­pen­dent the­atres, la­bo­ra­to­ry works, con­certs, stu­dent shows, me­etings with ar­ti­sts, film scre­enings and un­co­nven­tio­nal events com­bi­ning art with na­tu­re.

CHO­REA The­atre - a thri­ving, un­co­un­ta­ble and unpre­dic­ta­ble gro­up of ar­ti­sts, per­for­mers, mu­si­cians, dan­cers, ac­tors, prac­ti­tio­ners, the­atre and dra­ma the­ori­sts. They cre­ate in­ter­di­sci­pli­na­ry ar­ti­stic, edu­ca­tio­nal and so­cial pro­jects: con­certs, work­shops and per­for­man­ces. They em­ploy in­no­va­ti­ve, ori­gi­nal work me­thods, go­ing bey­ond the cul­tu­ral ma­in­stre­am. They di­rect the­ir work, pro­jects, ac­tions and ac­ti­vi­ties to: adults, youth and chil­dren, tho­se who are re­gu­lar the­atre-go­ers, tho­se with li­mi­ted ac­cess to art, and tho­se lo­oking for al­ter­na­ti­ve cul­tu­ral in­i­tia­ti­ves. They put em­pha­sis on team-bu­il­ding, jo­int co­ope­ra­tion, part­ner­ship, gro­up dy­na­mics, in­ter­re­la­tions, the awa­re­ness of body, vo­ice and mu­si­ca­li­ty in the­ir work.
