My long time sacred space in the village of Ayious Vavatsinias- in collaboration with
TERRA ARTE CY is excited to present sacred sound ceramics .
These "Musical Clay Creations" – blend the timeless art of ceramics with the universal language of music.
🌀 What It’s All About: "Musical Clay Creations" is an innovative hands-on experience where participants will explore the ancient tradition of crafting musical instruments from clay , such as flutes, drums, and other sound-producing objects. Guided by the expertise of Andreas Fasoulidis, this workshop is both educational and expressive.
🎯 Workshop Goals:
Creation: Design and craft clay musical instruments inspired by ancient techniques and forms.
Exploration: Delve into cultural heritage and traditional music practices from antiquity.
Learning: Develop ceramic skills while understanding acoustics and instrument construction.
Collaboration: Strengthen group dynamics through collective artistic creation.
🎼 Workshop Activities:
Introduction to History: Discover how clay was used in ancient times to create musical instruments.
Instrument Making: Step-by-step guidance to craft clay flutes, percussion, and sound objects.
Decoration & Firing: Apply ancient decorative techniques and fire your creations in traditional kilns.
Musical Experience: Play and improvise music using the instruments you’ve created in group jam sessions with Helen Argyrou (Helen AHA)
