Eunice Pinney (1770–1849) was a pioneering American folk artist known for her expressive watercolor paintings. Working in Connecticut during the early 1800s, she created vivid scenes of everyday life, allegories, and portraits with bold outlines and rich colors. Her art, influenced by English engravings, reflects a unique blend of personal vision and early American culture. One of the first American women to work seriously in watercolor, Pinney’s work is now recognized as an important part of the country’s folk art tradition.
