The Stranger by Albert Camus

As before, we will meet at the Bolesław Chrobry statue (next to Renoma) to take advantage of the summer weather.

This month, we are reading Albert Camus's 1942 classic novella The Stranger.

The story follows Meursault, a settler in Algeria, who commits a senseless murder. His trial becomes less about the crime and more about his indifference to societal norms—grief, love, and religion. Camus’s stark prose explores absurdism, challenging ideas of meaning, justice, and human connection. Short but profound, it’s a book that lingers, and should be perfect for a discussion!
