Neechee Studio introduces Shai Lavoie. Sheβll be teaching us hand drumming and songs.
Shai Loyie, Shabaka Ikwe indigo (woman who sings with the drum) & Anemkii Miikan Ikwe indigo (thunder road woman). Shai is a proud treaty 3 member, was born and raised in Couchiching First Nation and a registered member of Manitou Rapids First Nation. Shai has proudly called Thunder Bay home since moving here to for college in 2014. Shai is the proud big sister of Carson Loyie and works for Lakehead public school board as the Indigenous Student Wellness & Engagement Coordinator.
