Please join us as Beth Krommes introduces "Where The Deer Slip Through", the latest of the picturebooks she has illustrated with her gorgeous art.

This is the hedge that grew and grew.
The wall of stone a bit askew.
This is the gap where the deer slip through,
when the sky is still more pink than blue...

Throughout the course of a beautiful summer day, from sunrise to moonrise, a host of animals find their way through a gap in the hedge, bringing a farm to life in this new cumulative picturebook from the award winning poet Katey Howes. Beth Krommes stunning scratchboard illustrations showcase the wonder that wildlife brings to a small woodland farm.

Beth Krommes received the Caldecott Medal in 2009 for The House in the Night by Susan Marie Swanson. She has illustrated a number of other highly acclaimed picture books, including Blue on Blue by Dianne White and Swirl by Swirl: Spirals in Nature by Joyce Sidman. Beth lives with her family in Peterborough.

Young and old, everyone will enjoy hearing about her work, how she does it, the publishing process and more. And admire the artwork she has contributed to our in-store signage! We love it!
