Yoga of Recovery - Healing the Habits that Bind

Yoga of Recovery (YoR) highlights the deep connection between Yoga, Ayurveda, and the 12 Steps. Achieving sobriety is a lifelong process that often involves multiple attempts; therefore, recovery requires a holistic approach which must include the wisdom and practices that address
our physical, mental, emotional and spiritual well-being.
This 3-hour workshop offers an invitation to delve into a self-inquiry of the "roots" of addictive behaviors, moving beyond mere symptoms. YoR presents a fully integrated and holistic approach by combining Ayurveda with the philosophy and practices of Yoga. Its foundation rests upon Six Tenets:
Life is Longing,
Life is Prana,
Life is Relationship,
Life is Sweet,
Life is Love,
and Life is Progress.
Addiction, viewed through the lenses of Yoga, Ayurveda, and 12-Step
programs, is fundamentally a spiritual ailment. The six tenets offer a Vedic framework for addressing this "spiritual malady" and navigating the path to recovery.
Yoga of Recovery (YoR) guides individuals to inner health and joy through internal practices, shifting away from external seeking. Ayurveda helps bridge the gap between our yoga practice, 12-Step programs, sponsorship, or therapy. Together, Ayurveda and Yoga offer a system of medicine that emphasizes daily lifestyle skills and suggestions. This approach provides remedies and solutions for emotional and stress reactions, tailored to an individual's unique nature through what YoR terms the "Five Sense Therapies. "YoR welcomes all who wish to overcome self-destructive and/or addictive tendencies.
