2025 Valuable Expert Training Series (V.E.T.S.) - Exploring Care & Support Services & Iowa Medicaid

This program examines how best to prepare for future care decisions and changes, including respite care, residential care and end-of-life care. Jessica Duncan, Program Director for the Alzheimer's Association, will go over information to help prepare for these decisions and care options.
Scott Hartsook, Attorney at Law at the Thoreau Center, will present Iowa Medicaid information and how this can impact dementia families. From 1997 to 2018, Scott Hartsook was the Managing Attorney for the Legal Hotline for Older Iowans, a special project of Iowa Legal Aid that provides free legal advice to Iowans who are 60 or older. He now practices part-time to help people qualify for Medicaid for their long-term care expenses.
