Denver Homeless Persons' Memorial Vigil & Blanket Project

For 36 years, the Colorado Coalition for the Homeless has hosted the Homeless Persons' Memorial Vigil on December 21st, the longest night of the year. For the 2025 Vigil, the Coalition is proud to partner with the Homeless Remembrance Blanket Project to increase the impact of this event which honors those neighbors who passed away in the preceding year while experiencing homelessness in Denver.

The Homeless Remembrance Blanket Project is both an art installation and an opportunity for generous blanket makers to knit, crochet, and quilt special gifts for neighbors far and wide who are experiencing homelessness. This year, hundreds of handmade blankets will be displayed near the Denver Vigil to raise awareness about homelessness. After the display is through, the blankets will be distributed to people in need.

On Sunday, December 21st, the combined event will take place as always in Downtown Denver. Stay tuned to this invite to learn more.

Whether you’re located in Denver or anywhere in the world, if you quilt, crochet, knit, or weave, now is your chance to be part of this amazing display of kindness and love.

Thank you as always to the City and County of Denver for their partnership on this event.
