The City of Aurora is joining other municipalities in adopting the Blue Envelope Program. The Blue Envelope Program is designed to improve communication between law enforcement and individuals with disabilities such as autism or other communication challenges. Participants in this program place their essential documents in a blue envelope and present the envelope to law enforcement officers. The envelope is a method to alert law enforcement officers of the potential need for additional communication accommodations or awareness.
