The Australian Pedal Car Grand Prix is a fun action packed and vibrant event held in Coleraine, Victoria, Australia. During this healthy and environmentally friendly event you will see competitors sent racing around the streets of Coleraine in the picturesque Western Districts of Victoria. The race is held at the Coleraine Train Station Tourist centre which adjoins the scenic Lagoon. Racing will be in McConachie, Pilleau and Robertson Streets, with the start and finish line in McConachie Street adjacent the lagoon.
Coleraine is located 330 km west of Melbourne via Geelong and Hamilton and 34 km west of Hamilton. Coleraine is a pleasant rural centre nestled into an attractive, fertile valley at the southern end of the Grampian Ranges.
Teams of four or more competitors are invited to build and race their own unique pedal car in a two-hour endurance event. Pedal cars can also be hired from the committee.
Categories are Junior, Open and Elite.
Junior category is for 13 years and under with 4 to 8 pedallers and two pitcrew.
Open category is for 13 years and over (including adults) with 4 pedallers and two pitcrew.
Elite category is for 14 and over with 4 pedallers and two pitcrew. Elite cars will be scrutinised and are at the discretion of the race director prior to the race.
