The siege of Yorktown in October 1781 was the last major clash of arms between the Crown Forces (British, Hessians, and Loyalist) and the Continental Army with their French Allies. The event for 2025 (244 anniversary) will be on September 6-7, on the Yorktown Battlefield and in the historical town of Yorktown. Visitors will be able to interact with and hear the stories of the British and Loyalist Soldiers, Sailors, and Marines; to learn about the drills; camp life; camp-followers; the role of the Navy; and more. Colonial National Historical Park (NHP) tells the story of the colonization of North America by the English from its beginning in 1620 to its end with the siege of Yorktown in 1781. There are two visitor centers, one at Jamestown and one in Yorktown. They are connected by the Colonial Parkway.
