Fanny's Roving Folk Club. Claire Vine and Cerys Hafana

An evening with Cerys Hafana and Claire Vine exploring traditional and contemporary inspirations and interpretations of 'folk' music.
Fanny will be running her legendary bar and serving hot food, nibbles and cake.
Cerys Hafana is a Welsh triple harpist and composer who mangles, mutates and transforms traditional music. They explore the creative possibilities of archival material, folk songs and psalms, found sounds and electronic processing, alongside original compositions. They come from Machynlleth, mid Wales, where rivers and roads meet on the way to the sea.
Claire Vine’s songs sound like they’ve always existed. She has a knack for condensing urgent political and social commentary into concise, uncompromising moments of raw beauty. Her songs are inspired by protest movements, the refugee crisis and her longing for justice in a more sustainable world. With lyrics that are both a call to action and a space for contemplation, she blends passion and pragmatism in each memorable song.
