Deam Lake Loop Trail Run

The inaugural Deam Lake Loop Trail Run will take place on Saturday, October 4th 2025 at Deam Lake State Recreation Area in Borden, Indiana! Join us for this first ever foot race along the iconic Deam Lake Loop Trail, which follows the boundary of Deam Lake SRA and is a perfect 10K course. A 5K option is also available. Enjoy the beautiful colors of fall on this scenic and challenging course that sees several short but steep climbs. Walkers and hikers welcome!
Both races will begin and end at the Forest Education Center at Deam Lake State Recreation Area.
5K Start: 8:00am
10K Start: 8:10am
Packet Pickup will take place on Friday, Oct. 3rd from 5:00 to 7:00pm and race-day from 6:30 to 7:30am at the Forest Education Center.
Entry fees: 10K - $35, 5K - $30.

COURSES:
10K: Runners will start on an old logging road that runs behind the Park Office (across from the Forest Education Center) and enter the eastern section of Deam Lake Loop where they will turn left and continue counter-clockwise along the entire loop. This wide, even trail sees several gradual to steep climbs, has several small creek crossings, and is rated as "moderately challenging." 5K: This will will be a combination of Deam Lake Loop, the Knobstone Trail, and a small section of paved road. There is one road crossing at approximately mile 0.9.
