Family Plena Workshop

You can attend this workshop by yourself or with your entire family. It is intended for all ages. Learn the basics of Afro-Puerto Rican Plena with Cultura Plenera instructors. Plena is a Puerto Rican musical genre, which dates back more than 100 years, that narrates stories of the Puerto Rican experience through hand drums, güiro and singers. We will provide Plena hand-drums so all that is needed is your presence. This workshop is co-hosted by Savage Mill, Carroll Baldwin Hall, and Cultura Plenera.
