The Cream of Clapton at Maleny

Over a decade ago, The Claptomaniacs formed on the Sunshine Coast, to play tribute to the guitar legend, Eric Clapton and they keep coming back to their Clapton roots, particularly at the request of Clapton fans. Over the last few years, they have sold out several special multimodal concert events at the beautiful Majestic Theatre in Pomona, focusing exclusively on Eric Clapton, partly in response to the requests of those die-hard fans. Now they are bringing the show to the southern end of the Sunshine Coast hinterland, at the Maleny RSL.
On Saturday August 16, the band will present Clapton's music; from 1968 in the Yardbirds, blues collaborations with the likes of John Mayall, the supergroup Cream, Blind Faith and onwards through his solo career and multiple other collaborations (JJ Cale etc), with classics like Layla, Tears in Heaven, Change the World, I Shot the Sheriff and so many more. It's supported by a colourful slide presentation that provides context and back-story for many of his most loved songs. If you ever wondered 'What's all the fuss about Clapton?', here's your chance to find out.
