🥾 12½ miles 🥾 Moderate 🥾 Leader: Stevie 🥾

See the North Yorkshire Moors at their finest, carpeted with a vibrant pink and purple heather. From the Hole of Horcum car park, we head east to the other-worldly rocky outcrops of the Bridestones, and then to the pretty villages of Lockton and Levisham. We return by way of the ruins of Skelton Tower, where we might catch a glimpse of the steam railway 🚂, and then around the edge of the magnificent bowl of the Hole of Horcum itself.

🅿️ Saltergate car park on the A169 – £6 for the day, payment by contactless card/phone or app only

🚌 Coastliner 840 bus from York Stonebow at 08:30 or Malton at 09:15 – if you're coming on the bus, please let the walk leader know beforehand so that we can wait for you if the bus is delayed

🐶 Dogs are welcome, but must be kept on a lead at all times

🥪 You will need to bring a packed lunch

🍺 After the walk, we will head to a nearby pub for a drink

Midlife Hikers is part of the Ramblers and our walks are led by volunteers. Non-members are welcome to try us out for free for up to 3 walks but then we ask you to join the Ramblers
