The Little Tramp takes a job on a factory line, only to find himself a cog in an increasingly automated world. Combining sublime slapstick set pieces with stinging social satire, Chaplin’s final silent—well, almost silent—film was ranked #33 on the AFI’s list of the greatest American comedies.
