Fallout - The Police Tribute

Folks of a certain age can remember back to a time when The Police were, quite

simply, the biggest band in the world. Sting, Andy Summers and Stewart Copeland

played a unique and irresistible brand of reggae-fied rock music that lit up stages

around the world. FALLOUT, a Halifax-based tribute to The Police, brings the

timeless songs of Sting & Co. back to life in memorable fashion.

FALLOUT is made up of three stalwarts of the Atlantic Canadian music scene.

Rob Currie (bass, vocals) is best known as the founder of pub warriors The

Cornerboys, and is also a solo artist and composer; Leon Tovey (guitar, vocals)

has appeared with numerous rock bands, including most recently Cave Junction

and Greasy Luck; and drum veteran Mike Carroll (drums, vocals, musical

textures) has been behind the skins for various artists, from Beatles tribute band

Abbey Road to the Celtic zoo of Pogey, to Matt Andersen, Myles Goodwyn and

Bruce Guthro, and most recently Dave Carroll.

Together these three dig deep into the Police catalogue and put on a show pleasing

both to hard-core fans and casual listeners, with a mixture of hits, fan favourites

and deep cuts from the entire Police catalogue. Not content to duplicate the band’s

studio work, FALLOUT pays tribute to the dynamism and energy of the Police’s

live shows. “Roxanne,” “Message In A Bottle,” “De Do Do Do, De Da Da Da” and

“Every Breath You Take” all make an appearance, along with numbers cherished

by fans like “Bring on the Night” and “Driven to Tears.” Not a night of nostalgia—

just fun tunes from a high-powered band.
