📣 James Island, We’re Coming to You! FREE EVENT

Mark your calendars: Saturday, August 2nd is not just another summer day — it’s a celebration of Black legacy on James Island.

The Center for Family History at the International African American Museum is hosting a one-of-a-kind, heart-filled community event at Thomas Johnson Park (1443 Secessionville Road). From 10 AM to 3 PM, we’ll be honoring the families, neighborhoods, and stories that built our past and still shape our future.

✨ Bring your family treasures — birth, marriage, and death records, photos of loved ones, military papers, images of Black-owned businesses and historic neighborhoods — and let us help preserve your legacy. We’ll be scanning and safeguarding your history so it can live on for generations.

Whether you’re curious about your roots, passionate about your community, or just love a good story, this is your day. Let’s lift up the names, faces, and stories that deserve to be remembered.

💬 Spread the word. Bring your people. Let’s preserve Black history — together.
