Come learn with Honey Judge Ginny Mitchell how to prepare your entries for the Iowa State Fair! We will look at photos of actual entries from several state fairs. All equipment used to judge will be available for you to see and use. Please bring any examples of liquid, creamed, comb honey, wax, candles, etc. to be looked at live! Learn tips and tricks for perfecting the art of honey fair entries.

Trained under Marion Ellis from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, Ginny has been a honey judge for 13 years. She has judged Iowa, Nebraska, Kansas, Missouri, and Kentucky State Fairs, along with several beekeeping club honey competitions. She is an entomologist, beekeeper, mom, and gardener.
