Announcing Open Auditions
for Hubbard Hall Theater Company’s October Production of
EURYDICE
By Sarah Ruhl
Directed by Sarah Murphy
Audition Dates and Location
July 29 & 30, 6:00 PM–8:00 PM
Hubbard Hall, 25 E Main St., Cambridge, NY
Those auditioning for the roles of Eurydice or Orpheus may be asked to attend a callback on July 30 following that day's auditions, if they are available.
Synopsis
Sarah Ruhl’s Eurydice offers a fresh and imaginative take on the ancient myth of Orpheus, told from the perspective of Eurydice herself. After a tragic accident on her wedding day, Eurydice enters the underworld, where she reunites with her father and begins to rediscover her memories and sense of self. Blending poetic language, surreal imagery, and moments of humor and heartbreak, the play explores love, loss, and the fragile nature of memory. Eurydice is a moving meditation on what we hold onto, what we let go, and the longing to be remembered.
