Creating Large Scale Artworks with Eddie Kent Tallent

This workshop, for artists of any skill level, will focus on the challenges and joys of creating large scale paintings or drawings. You will learn tricks for scaling up preliminary drawings and sketches to larger format surfaces, and gain advice on execution and presentation of such works.

You may work in any painting or drawing medium with which you are comfortable including oils, acrylics, watercolor, gouache, pastels, graphite, charcoal, etc. Participants must supply their own materials and reference photos (if used) and should bring sufficient supplies to complete a finished artwork of AT LEAST 18 x 24 inches. Subject matter is open and could include anything from landscape to still life, figurative work to abstraction.

NOTE: This class will be held at the W. Kerr Scott Dam and Reservoir Visitor Center located at 499 Reservoir Rd, Wilkesboro, NC 28697 NOT at the Wilkes Art Gallery location.


Advanced registration is highly encouraged.
